(a)    This scientific workshop was organized based on the keyword "Radio Waves, from Northern Country." As this keyword implies, the workshop laid emphasis on a various researches by top researchers in Hokkaido prefecture. The topics included recent progress on fiber optics and multiple antenna signal processing technology. In addition role of mobile communications for local promotion was discussed. The meeting was very successful with 35 attendees and very tight discussions.

(b)    Only afternoon sessions were scheduled in the meeting. Q&A slots seemed to be slightly short, however, we had quite intensive discussions.
