11.    Concluding Remarks

This workshop has covered a wide range of topics from fundamentals to applications of microwave materials by active researchers in the field. Professor Awai has presented an intuitive explanation of physics and characteristics of microwave ferrimagnetic materials and Professor Hashimoto has also presented novel trends and examples of microwave absorber applications, which is quite interesting and informative for audience. A talk on a hot topic on physics and properties of left-handed materials has been given by myself in the rump session with more than one hour extension, resulting in precious and fruitful discussions. It is unfortunate that the first talk on microwave dielectric materials by Dr. Tamura has been canceled. By courtesy of Professors Awai and Zhang, a one day Biwako Lake tour program has been took place the next day with six attendees. It has gone smoothly through the day and has helped for exchanging information and mutual friendship.
